It is a festive child-welfare initiative that gives children from orphanages or child-care institutions the opportunity to experience Durga Puja pandals, lights, cultural displays and community celebration.
Children living in institutional care may have fewer opportunities to participate in ordinary family and community celebrations. Creating a safe and inclusive festive outing can provide meaningful social and cultural experiences.
The programme should be organised in coordination with the relevant institution, with prior permission, adequate adult supervision, transportation planning, emergency contacts, child-safety considerations and a realistic itinerary. The purpose is to provide a positive experience while keeping the children's safety and dignity at the centre.
Who Get Benefits: Children from participating orphanages or child-care institutions, subject to institutional permission and programme capacity.
