A school-focused menstrual awareness programme providing practical education on menstrual health
The Menstrual Awareness & Hygiene Programme supports adolescent girls with practical, respectful information about menstruation and menstrual hygiene. The programme is intended to make conversations around periods more comfortable and help girls make informed everyday hygiene choices.
Misinformation, stigma and limited access to menstrual products can make menstruation difficult for adolescent girls. Some girls may feel embarrassed to ask questions, while lack of supplies can create practical barriers to school participation and everyday activities.
Prochesta creates a safe educational setting where girls can learn about the menstrual cycle, hygiene practices, product use and disposal, common misconceptions and when to seek appropriate adult or professional support. Where resources permit, hygiene kits can be distributed alongside education so that assistance is both informational and practical.
